Do you ask about salary at an interview?

I went for an interview the other day. The ad said salary was negotiable. In the interview I was asked my current salary but wasn't asked my salary expectations. Should I have brought it up? My husband thinks it will look odd that I never asked!

No. Only ask at the second interview. You dont want to appear only interested in the money, even though most people are!

Absolutely never. It's an immediate turn off for any prospective employer, regardless of the fact that it's completely understandable that you would like to know.

Leave all salary talk until you are offered the job unless it's been advertised already.

Good move not stating expectations. Wait til asked. Also, if they do decide you are the one they want for the job, they'll be more willing to listen to your salary requests given they have put time into narrowing the decision down to one person - they won't want to let you slip away over a few grand imo! Good luck

Phew, good to know it looks as if I did the right thing.
Good point about having more bargaining power on it once you are called back, lets just hope there will be a 2nd interview to put the theory to the test!
