Check out the IWW website I would suggest, or PM IWWinfo who is a member on this site.

If it's still available, Legacy of the SFX is a decent DVD if you're looking for Seamus stuff. He's got at least two matches on it, and otherwise, it's a pretty good watch, with stuff like AJ Styles/Daniels, and a couple of Red Vinny bouts.

Have to say Sheamus wasn't too impressive when he was at IWW

    He was cat.

Good DVD to pick up is "The Battle of Easons:The Very Best of Conor Hurley." Gerard C carries him to the best feud of his life in fairness.

Also "101 Card Tricks: How to appease an irate crowd" by Nigel McGuinness.

He was still a hell of a lot better than any of the other home grown wrestlers that IWW produced. SOS at that stage had the ringcraft and was putting in the effort. His only problem was the majority of wrestlers he was coming up against were rubbish. It was only in fights like the one against Vampiro in the SFX did he really shine. Good athletes always perform better against good competition.

Also she the start of Balls Mahoneys lecture circuit career. And Ravens first dip into a long life in diplomacy.

Vampiro is NOT "good competition" for anyone, I cannot stress that point enough.

You got in there before me... I was about to say exactly the same thing.

Vampiro is like SOS, before he went to the WWE and learned alot of the finer points of his craft. Except he's got by without advancing his skills......

And yet sickeningly still gets booked all over the place and is egarded as a nig name in Mexico. Infuriating. :(

SOS WAS AWESOME. I loved watching IWW on the WC but then we got rid of it :(

Drew Galloway was in IWW as well.

What they should o in my opinion is have an IWW invasion :p, they come in to help sos in a title shot and then drew and finlay run out as a face of the wwe but turn on sheamus's opponent. then it turns out that vince mcmahon is on the Irish side as well.

Yeah because everyone who watches WWE knows what IWW is,

Most people who watch WWE prob don't know what TNA, ROH, Dragon Gate and others are so it hardly makes a differnce. They can explain it. If I was a booker I'd be doing this. The Red Vinny and the Ballymun Bruiser in WWE, would be epic:D imagine bb coming down with cans to the ring lol

It would be good for Irish people because we are able to relate to them but the yanks aren't even going to know where ballymun is.
    Possibly the worst idea ever.

Austin to come out of retirement after Bruiser gets him drinking the Dutch Gold. Then Bruiser starts up a faction of lads who just want to get locked. Austin, The APA, Iron Sheik, etc....

    I'd watch anyway

They had 5 Irish guys on their last show. And 2 of them worked double duty.

well i just looked back there on the results for their last tour and they had on the shows Red Vinny, La Warren, Captain Rooney, Working Class John, Mandrake, The Supermodel and Ballymun Bruiser. that's 7 irish guys.

There's no point nit-picking over 7 or 5 guys or whatever on a show though. 7 wrestlers on a card is a very slim lineup indeed.

7 irish guys and 2 foreign guys. that's nine total. that's the average amount that you see on any indy show.

No it isn't. That's at absolute most, like 4 matches, if they're all singles, without anyone doing double duty.
Working Class John overcame Captain Rooney

Jason Rotanda defeated LA Warren to become Zero Gravity Champion

Jason Rotanda & Working Class John beat LA Warren & Captain Rooney were had Jason been pinned he would of lost the ZG Championship

Mandrake retained his IwW Int. Heavyweight Championship against The Supermodel in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match

There were only 6 guys here, as there were in other october shows.
I'm not having a go at them or anything, but there's no point exaggerating, it is a very slim roster.

well that's funny cause i was at one of them shows in october, it had 9 wrestlers and five matches. yeah some did do double duty but that was because they ran an in-show storyline. it makes sense to do that.

Even 9 is very very slim to be fair.

You were at the show Vinny wrestled on yeah? That one show is hardly representative of their whole tour, which featured as little as six guys on some cards. Not 9 on every event as you seemed to imply. Even at that- it's slim as i said.

Pretty much all of the shows had guys doing double duty btw.

but even if they did double duty i'd imagine it was also because they ran an in show storyline llike they did at the vinny show and like they did at the clondalkin show(which only had 6 wrestlers). straight matches are boring. throw a storyline in and it makes the night much better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,629 ✭✭✭Adiboo

They do double duty because of such a small roster. The storylines are so they can justify sticking them in another match.
