External Dialler for Phonewatch Alarm Panel

I have an eircom phonewatch panel that was in my house when i moved in (it's the 24-96 zone panel with two aerials)

I do not have the engineer codes, the alarm is no longer monitored and i don't want to sign up to phonewatch monitoring.

If possible I would like to get voice or text notification to my mobile if the alarm is triggered

Does anyone know is there an external dialler or a GSM dialler that can be triggered by the alarm bell signal, ie just wired into the bell output from the alarm panel ?

    Thanks

    Hi seejay,

This panel is called a concord.
The panel has a domestic dialer built in which will ring one phone in the event the alarm goes off. It will send a series of alarm tones to notify of certain panel conditions. An 8 second sequence of tones is repeated 5 times on each phone call. A maximum of three phone calls are made. Only problem is you need the eng code off phonewatch to program this into the panel.

Another thing you said is about getting something to sent a signal to your phone and connect it up through the bell output. This can be done if you have an external bell on the alarm but if you dont again you would need the eng code also as the outputs on the concord are not programmed unless there is an external bell on the system.

You should get on to the previous owner and get them to ring phonewatch for the eng code, they wont give it to you as you dont have the password for the account but they might give it to them..

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks Altor,

The previous owner is looking for the codes for me - the panel has an external bell and i was thinking of something like the Honeywell Informa dialler which i understand can be triggered by the bellm output

I'l see where i get to with the codes

Was just looking at the unit there and looks easy enough to program too. you just need to connect it to the external bell output on the alarm. 1 is + and 8 is - on the board..

    Any problems let me know..

I installed these units a few years back and they gave me nothing but trouble. Out of 20 or so installed only a couple are still in service. Most just failed, usually the optoisolator beside the phone connection.
One of the major disadvantages of the informa is that it will play the pre recorded message before the phone is answered.
I would recommend the pyronix vocalizer
