Hi am looking for help to find the lyrics of a song which my grandmother sang to me. I believe the song is called "power of piltown" and is wrote about John Power who was from piltown and won 4 all ireland medals with Kilkenny in the early 1900s.
The first lines of the song are,
"Its in september I do remember to Dublin city we went by rail, the morn was calm and the sun was shining and it soon appeared like a mist of rain
Jones road was the place appointed 60000 was there Im told to see the leinster champions in the black and amber and the pride of munster in the scarlet gold"

    All help appreciated

Have you tried writing to the Kilkenny People, High Street, Kilkenny? If they can't be of direct help, I'm sure they'll publish your letter.
