Hi there... Anyone knows where I could buy canvas/threads for cross stitching in Dublin?

I would really appreciate some help! :)

    Many thanks in advance!

oooo now there's a good question I haven't a clue but I'd like to know as well... have you tried the internet. I didn't see any irish stores *that deal in cross stitch* at the Knit & Stitch show.

Well, internet is one thing (and no, I haven't tried yet, i was hoping to get a name of a magic shop-like-place ;)), and buying stuff you can actually see and touch is another...

I am really surprised that there seems to be nothing like that in the area... I am Polish and when back in Poland, I always thought UK and Ireland would be cross stitch heavens... UK might be one, but Ireland doesn't really seem to :( It's a pity, really...

There is Inspiring Ideas at the Blanchardstown centre, that's where I get my crafting bits and bobs, they have cross stich kits, threads and fabric. Or you could try ebay

Some of the Hickeys stores do the threads and fabric too. They don't have that many charts but I find it best to get the charts online anyway. Glad to see other people enjoying cross stitch. No one else I know does it and although my friends all love the things I make I do sometimes feel like I should be sitting in a rocking chair with a tartan blanket over my legs! :D

I've heard about it as well (Hickeys), but the one that my friend had in mind doesn't exist any more, apparently... Do you have any particular ones in mind?

Charts - I usually find them in the cross stitch magazines, so no problem! :)

And very true - people like it, but associate it with grannies ;) We'll at least know the tricks by the time we're retired ;)

I found that Inspiring Ideas didn't have much of a cross stitch collection. So instead I downloaded the patterns,,(mainly from www.cyberstitchers.com ), then I bought the aida and threads from Woollen Mills in Dublin, 15 euro a yard.
