I have been collecting the dole now for a few weeks and tomorrow is my first sign on day, can I collect my dole before I sign on? Or do I have to sign on first then head the post office.

    Thanks

from personal experience it doesnt matter. I normally picked my money up at 9 am and then headed down to sign on for 9.30 and ive also done the opposite with no negative effects

Won't make any difference. It is just literally signing your name, not computerised or anything so nothing to tell the Post Office if you've signed the bit of card already or not.

In addition to this, when you do sign on,do the SW office ask you for proof of searching for a job or do they bother at all??
