Me and my friends live in an appartment. we're moving out in 3 weeks.

the other day the television licence man came and gave us a thing to say we had no licence and had to get one.

he ticked a box to say he had seen our telly even though he didnt and wasnt able to. he never took any of our names.

today we got a letter to say we had to buy one but there is no name on the letter and we are going in 3 weeks. should we just not get it? or could we still be fined even though he hasnt our names???

I answered once and said I didn't live here, closed the door, rolled a spliff, jumped over my back wall and went up to my Biology lecture =]

They don't have your names and you're leaving in 3 weeks, don't bother your arse. Pop any notices back in the post with "Premises unoccupied" written on the front.

Could you live with the shame?:D

Naa, seriously, why would you bother? Ye will be gone in a few weeks, before they even get around to prosecuting AND they don't have your names, so they can't prosecute anyway.

Maybe we should have a 'TV License Forum', seeing as we get so many threads on the subject!!

Well you will have atelly in your new place, so you'll need a licence there anyway. AFAIK, you can transfer a tv licence to your new address so you might as well buy one.

That's a good idea, ask any of your friends do they have an old broken window. Next time he comes round to give you a lecture - throw the broken TV out the window!

    Checkmate!

Double points if it lands on him!

If I were you I'd contact your solicitor about the whole thing.
