Beone 2010 Range

Just checked out the CRC website and noticed that the 2010 Beone prices are out. Then I checked the Beone site to see that the components have been upgraded all round e.g Shimano 105 on their range starter Briza. All great, except that the total weights haven't decreased (upgrade?),then I looked at the prices again. Ouch. The J curve effect of the fall in sterling is now clear. For a while everything in sterling looked cheap. Now everything has to be bought by sterling companies at the new exchange rate and prices have shot up. If anyone is looking to buy something from a UK site... act now before it is too late.

I think the ship of cheap UK bikes sailed some time ago, unless you're a dwarf or giant and can find something in a bin end.

Just for comparison, the 2010 Storm is over €600 more than what I paid for the 2009 model just a few weeks ago, with the only real upgrade being the new Ultegra vs. 105 on the old model. CRC will probably have some discount on the RRP when they eventually go on sale, but they'll still be expensive.

Maybe time to look at Euro-based suppliers like Canyon (if they get their customer service sorted out)?

one of the reasons i bought my cayo (aprt from having christmas and birthday money lying around and not wanting to blow it on beer) with the exchange rates going the way they were there were some great deals around. but how are ribble and planetx maintaining their prices ?

Sort of makes the second hand value of 2009 models higher. The currency problem will also hit any irish stores that access supplies from the uk even if the product originated in euro. Double whammy.

Hope thats true. I bought the 2009 model for just under €500 - after tax ! 1500 for the 2010 model is quite a leap.

looks like we'll have to start sourcing direct from Europe.
