hi i just lost my 2g iphone and i am going to claim on the insurance. The insurance is with phonecover any idea if they they are replacing them with 3g or 3gs models.

I think i read somewhere that this was the case so just wanted to confirm?

    thanks

Why not ring them up and inquire ?

I'd be surprised if any insurer was doing this, but maybe they do. Insurers in general only cover you for actual losses, so I would expect that they would simply give you the market value of a 2G today (or a 2G that they have in stock). You'd have to ring them though.

From what I have seen on a number of forum threads, if you have an 8gb you will most likely receive a 8g 3G iPhone but if you have 16gb you will receive a 16gb 3GS...

The 2G is not being made by Apple anymore and so insurance companies cannot source them...

But please let us know what happens and what replacement you receive...
