have recently met a guy who i like (was in a relationship 4 2 years ) now im attracted to this guy (dying to have a bit of sex) however want to try and give the right impression. don't want to rush things and want us to get to know each other and develop feelings - do the right thing as i feel this could be a good guy and potentially could have a relationship with however - whats the appropriate time for having sex (i know it depends on 2 people and how they feel about each other etc...) but due to the recession i am living at home luckily ive held onto my house and his house is almost ready to move into...ive had 3 dates with him so far.......(met him in total 5 times) good chemistry between us. but id love to know what guys think? my friends don't discuss exactly how long it took for them to have sex with their boyfriends.... in fairness ive another date arranged for during the week and in fairness he may not ask me out on a date again!!

Can I ask what age you are, OP ?

The text-speak and your post in general would seem to imply very young, and there's a lot of "ifs, ands and buts" in relation to possible answers, including your own confidence and whether or not its your "first time" (ever).

Having said that, my own answer would be "when it feels right"; un-forced and comfortable, if that's any help.

Not wanting to sound clichéd, OP, I would say whenever you're 100% sure you're ready. Also, a bit of a cuddle is not to be sniffed at either. You don't have to just go straight in for sex ;) if you fancy going back to his after your date, you could always just see how things progress. I think you'll both know if you want to take things further or not. Also if he doesn't ask you out on another date just cos you didn't put out, maybe he's not the best guy for you to be with anyway.

Dont worry about them. Peer pressures are irellevant.

If he doesnt than **** him forget about him. If you're not ready and the only reason you're rushing yourself is you're worried you might lose him, then he isnt worth giving the goods away to. The right partner is going to respect your boundary and not pressure you into something youre not prepared to do.

Also I wouldn't feel comfortable doing the deed before we had at least brought up the topics of contraception and whatnot. It shouldnt be something you leave till the last minute or leave unsaid. Wouldnt it suck if he assumed you were on the pill and you assumed he was going to wear a rubber? I wonder how often that leads to a pregnancy :pac:

  • It depends on the person. My college friends are very conservative/religious and were talking cr*p about one of her friends because she slept with her boyfriend 'so soon' - I think it was after 3 weeks or so. That isn't soon to me by any stretch of the imagination, I would consider it normal but it depends if it's an actual relationship or a more casual situation.

A 'normal' time frame would be around the 3-4 week mark or so.
Any longer than that and some people get fed up waiting.

I'm sorry but thats totally ridiculous.
Everyone is different. If a guy (or girl) for that matter gets fed up waiting after 3-4 weeks, scrape them off

as everyone else has said, everyone is different. You will know when its right!

personally with my OH, he wanted to sleep with me straight away, I wasnt that type of girl, so I kept putting him off and putting him off. I wanted to make sure I properly liked him and could see a future with him so it ended up being about 4 weeks. And Im so glad I had waited for the little bit. I trusted him completely and it was amazing.

My last boyfriend was pursuing me for nearly a year before I started going out with him but we had sex straight away (couldn't leave him waiting any longer!).

Before that, my 1st boyfriend waited 3 months.
And along with those there have been a few one nighters, a few casual relationships etc.

As far as i know, I haven't got a reputation for being easy or a tease.

    I do what feels right.
