Excellent, reminds me of an old film - Brazil or was it 1984? Where a workers worked on editing/filing away useless information.

I only ever worked in a small practice, and it was more accounts prep than auditing. Thankfully, have never worked for a US company since the introduction of the gift that is SOX. So, I can only say that working in industry, especially at a high enough level, is relatively* rewarding work.

*compared to the PWC employee's experience

The talk about shoes and fashion has just moved towards The Apprentice and X-Factor.

God I hate the way people actually talk about those.

There are a lot of parts that are true I guess.

I don't hate auditing (yet!!!), but the whole never actually making/contributing to something worthwhile made me think pretty hard about it all. I think he might have a point.

X-Factor and the Apprentice is all I hear about in the canteen at lunch time. I dont even know what the Apprentice even is to be honest. Never bothered to find out what it is. That shows the level of interest I have in reality TV anyway.

This chap has actually by writing this warned some graduates away, thus adding value to their lives. Irony at its brilliant best :D

I was sitting in work about two weeks ago wondering if I could work as a cleaning lady instead!!
I think I am the email person. I guess 3 years of audit has really changed me!
