In fairness to her, I read somewhere that there are half a million aspiring actors/actresses living in LA so her chances are slim. Good luck to her though.

She will appear in the Irish film A Kiss for Jed Wood in 2010. I havent heard anything about her in LA. I think she lost weight to try and get some work in LA.

She still hasn't got a website up which is a prerequisite for any wannabe actor/actress trying to break into the industry there.

She has a website at www.carolinemorahan.com, but it's not fully working yet. I really cant understand what she's at though. She has no real acting experience here, and chooses to go to Hollywood to pursue and acting career. Most people build up at least some CV of Fair City, The Bill etc but she has nothing.

I think she's lovely looking but she's too big for lead female roles.

I don't want to knock her because I think it's good she's making a go of things, but a lot of people get fooled by the big fish in a small pond thing. You know, in Ireland she was fairly hot and well liked, so she probably felt quite confident and ready to take on the world. But in Hollywood she's a nobody with no experience surrounded by tens of thousands of actors who are better looking and more talented than her...

I hope she does well though.

Its good shes making a go of it over there, but she's either turned her back on her principles, or she'll be a bit too big for the American taste (don't get me wrong, she is a BEAUTIFUL woman but Americans like whippets and she says shes a size 12)

LOL, did you see at the end of the film, the final credit (in which they claim it's not infringing the copyright of Dr Who!) says "No profit is made from this film"!!! They must be so proud

Also just to add, I can't remember who it was said it (sorry, story would be better if I could!) but some actress was saying recently that it's close to impossible for 'normal' sized women to make it in Hollywood. If you're larger you can go for the fat girl roles, but if you're meant to be 'normal' in Hollywood you have to be teeny tiny by real-world standards.

I have an actress friend here in Ireland who has been considering going to LA (she hasn't really made it big over here). She's a size 6-8 and has been reliably advised by several people in the industry that she'd need to lose a few pounds if she went over (as well as getting her teeth fixed and a nose job). This is a horribly cruel industry.

So basically, kudos to Ms Morahan if she can make anything over there which will make a profit. But, emmm... I doubt it :-/

Good luck to her. I remember seeing her dueting with some bloke on an RTÉ late late/charity/fundraising thingy a few years back and she absolutely blew me away. She is drop dead gorgeous AND she can sing.

Hope it goes well for her but the odds are probably stacked against her.

the nerds dont really care about perfect acting. just a decent story and some nice effects and a good looking woman which she is. its not that bad...
its a fancy home video.

people are compare buckets with spades...did any one see "Defying Gravity" or the new "V"? .... very middle of the road and thats big budget stuff
