O.k. I am completely useless at this sort of thing, so plain english would be perfect. I recently purchased a P.S.P. for my son ( The Older model ). I am trying to connect to internet and don't know how. I have an 02 wireless broadband connection on the computer upstairs and I would just like for him to use the P.S.P. downstairs. I don't have a wireless router or anything. Any time I try and make a new connection it keeps finding eircom addressess but won't let me connect. I understand I need to use WI-FI also ( whatever that is ). Can anybody somehow explain to me the easiest way to connect to the internet, also is it possible to connect the P.S.P. by taking the wireless modem and connecting the 2 together through a cable.

not really possible with your current setup as it is, now if you had a friendly neighbour that was willing to share with you his network key for your son's psp, that would be the simplest solution

alternatively what is needed is some sort of router, this is connected to the net and beams your internet connection around the home via wi-fi :D

not all routers are geared for usb stick i hate to call it broadband, midband , you'll need something like USB Mobile Broadband Router (UMR)
    eg http://www.dovado.com/UMR.html

i think you can get an ethernet cable with a usb on the end of it, never heard of anyone with a wired psp connected to net, but could be possibe, but with that setup you'd probably still want a router, so ya might as well get a wireless one !! hope i've made some sense

    good luck

    :D
