Disagree, I think it is one of the best courses in connacht. Well kept some fine holes, lovely clubhouse and a joy to play!

HI op i am a member in Ballinrobe and reckon its a good test not the best around but usually in great nick. I played saturday and although it poured out of the heavens it drained well.
Ok so a quick run down of the course.
Nice easy opening hole thats followed by the hardest part of the course 2 thru to 8. Then it opens up for a few holes after this so you can blast away to your hearts content. Good finish with 16(par 3) 17(brute of par 4) and index 18 par 5 last.
The greens were good on saturday if just slow. Only cause it was so wet the staff couldnt cut. Its got a driving range 2euro for 32 balls and a practice chipping area and putting green. Nice grub and bar.
No ranger there so if its busy it can be very slow but fridays are usually good. Also should you qualify there is a final for open fridays around this time next year which is good fun.
    Enjoy

Its a very good course. Better than some more highly rated courses in Galway/Mayo. Enjoy.

    2/3 good holes?? Seriously?
4th, 6th and 8th are very good par 5's. There are two more par 5's which are weak. 2nd is a good hole too but if wind is not blowing against you there is no need to hit driver. 3 wood will do. 16th and 17th are also excellent holes. Watch out for swirling wind on 16th, even it appears calm on the teebox.
It's an excellent course and very enjoyable to play. Greens are normally good and fast too. I'm not a member by the way.

Have played the course a number of times, mainly in the open competitions on a Fri over the summer/autumn. Fantastic course really and one of my favourites with a great lay out and good mix of long/short hard/easy holes. Grass can occasionally be a bit on the long side but given the amount of land in the place I guess it's hard to continuously keep it cut.

i also think its one of the best in the mayo/galway region. Its kept in top condition year round... played there on the bank holiday monday and it was in great shape. very tricky tenth hole with out of bounds on the left of the fairway and water surrounding front and sides of green. Fairly long hole too. lots to go wrong.

I am a member. This course is the best parkland course over the winter months. Nearly always playable. The only thing to stop play is heavy frost or snow. Superb drainage. There is a 3 ball better ball competition over the winter months Mon to Friday €15 per player. Winner to qualify for grand final in May. Over €1,000 in prizes.

Played Ballinrobe today. Absolutely no problems. Greens were excellent and there was no casual water anywhere. The fairways were like carpet. Nobody in our 4 ball had to drop their ball. You gotta play this course to appreciate the high level of care given by the greens staff and the excellent drainage.
