    Hi all,

Looking for some advice and opinions please.

I am thinking a writing a book(my first) on wedding speeches, basically compiling best man speeches, grooms speeches etc and putting them into a book.

Looking to see if you think this is a good idea??

    Thank you

    Moggie

It's a possibility, but you might find it easier to sell if you approached some of the wedding magazines and offered to do a regular piece.

For what it's worth, at one wedding, the bride's father stood up and said "This is where I'm supposed to say all sorts of nice things about the bride. But this is Mary we are talking about, so that's out the window. Thanks to everyone who came." and he sat down.

I'd read this. I'm not sure about how in demand this kind of book is. Do the speeches have to be real? If you were doing fictional ones you could always write a certain amount of speeches and use them to tell a story or illustrate the relationships and attitudes of the various members of the wedding party to the day, couple, in-laws etc.

I've basically rambled on pointlessly so I'll be quiet now but I do like the idea.

seems to be quite a few books out there offering speech ideas for best men..so if you're going down that route I think you'd find it hard to push it. If you are taking a different angle however you may be lucky. Good luck
