Usually there is an exemption for holders of english speaking countries - so don't be worried

I thought that but Ive just been looking into it and the rules have changed I think.. I got an email form the "Nurses And Midwives Board NSW Australia "

"The Board’s English language requirements can be found on the Boards website http://www.nmb.nsw.gov.au/More-Information/default.aspx#english . There are no exceptions to English language requirements for applicants from English speaking countries."

Have a look and let me know what you think..

Or if anyone has 1st hand experience of applying recently, please let me know.

    Thanks a lot.

"There are no exemptions for applications received from 1 January 2009. "
Yeah my friends applied in 07/08 and I don't think they had to do anything

My mate had to do one recently. There's no exemption.

    Hi OP,

The english test is dead easy. If you search for ielts on this forum you'll get more info.

Found these sample question links from a few months ago:
    http://www.englishonline.org.cn/en/exams-work
    http://elc.polyu.edu.hk/IELTS/

Apply for the exam as soon as possible, you'll be waiting for an exam date for a few weeks.

You'll be wanting to do the GENERAL exam...not the Academic, that I did by accident (much harder!)

Are you sure the General is enough? Its the WHV I'm applying for.

I have recently sat the IELTS exam as I am registering as a nurse in Queensland. It is the academic that is needed. Sadly i failed the writing component as i had underestimated how difficult it would be!! There is no exemption for those from english speaking countries. It took approx 4 hours for the whole test including the speaking. I have to resit the stinkin thing in january as places before that are full.

I guess there's a reason they don't have an exemption then...
