Just looking for some kind of a guide price for either of these heating systems. Please indicate if installation costs are included. Trying to compare with geothermal (19,000 for entire system including everything).

that sounds fairly good for geothermal and UFH. our 2200 sq ft is costing around the same for heatpump, 300litre hot water cylinder and UFH throughout. we ended up having to spend another €3.5k for drilling as we were advised that our heatpump would work much better going vertical based on our soil type and site size.

soil type not really an issue. the major issue was that our site was a bit on the small side and we would've had too many bends in ground source collectors which would be very inefficient leading to higher ESB bills.

What was wrong with the soil?

Are there any risks associated with drilling?
