Quick question for anybody who may be able to advise.

I was let go last wednesday & went into the office Friday to sign on.
I have all the relevent info except a p45 which I am waiting for from my ex employer.

The only concern I have now is that I can't find my white PPS card which I assume you need to collect payment in the post office.

I have been trying all day to call my SW office but I can't get an answer.
Does anybody know do I need this card to collect my money in the post office & if so, how do I re-apply for a new one?

    Any advise is appreciated.

    Thanks

I dont think they will pay you anything if you dont have your card.Best advice is to call into your local SW office and talk to them.To be fair they are helpfull enough

I recently got supplementry welfare allowance from the community welfare officer and also lost my card, so she gave me a yellow card that she fiiled in my name and pps No. on and she signed it. I collected my money at the post office with it since then with no problems.

Yep thats the temporary card they give out- if you go to the CWO or SW office with some form of photo id you will get one of these no problems and they are accepted in the PO

As said just go in with photo id and they will issue you a temporary one that you can then collect the payments with for a few weeks. They are actually pretty quick at sending out the replacement cards.

go down to your social welfare office ASAP and tell them you havent your card. They will give you a temporary one and order you a new one which you should have in 2 weeks or so.

You need to do this ASAP so you can collect your payment, cos if your payment is in the post office for more than 3 days it goes back to the social welfare and you lose it.
