    Hi,

Planning on going to Koh Chang for Christmas, basing ourselves in Lonely Beach. I was there 2 years ago and loved it. However, I have heard that the Treehouse (one of the main beach hut places) has closed and is going derelict. This makes me nervous about going back!

Has anyone been there recently and how did you find Lonely Beach?? Is there anywhere else that you would recommend for Christmas?? Also going to Krabi, Phi Phi, and Koh Lanta. Not pushed about Pha Ngan, Samui etc - did them before and didnt love them!

Thanks, would really appreciate hearing from anyone that has been on Koh Chang recently!

One last question - want to stay near KSN in Bangkok but as it is our holidays (not smelly backpackers this time!!) I would like to go somewhere half decent. Anyone know any nice hotels around there - would pay up to about €60 p/night.

    Thanks,
    Angelica.

I was there not too long ago but splashed out on the one up-market place along the beach. Had a look in the other places (sunset huts & on right beside it) and wasn't too impressed but I wasn't up for staying in your typical beach hut anyway.

I'd say you'd pay silly money for the place I stayed in at Christmas though.

apparently the treehouse is open again under new management, so should be ok!

im staying at the magic garden for the moment, its great and very cheap 250 baht per night for a beach hut.The tree house is also open.Lonely beach is by far the nicest area on the island.
