weather is usually good. you would wear shorts, t shirt. locals would wear jackets. been there loads of times going back in january. we stay in bugibba. it is lively enough. pubs and resturants galore here. going to the beaches on the buses is very cheap, about a euro. lots to see. blue lagoon, blue grotto, village festivals are a good session. fire works. pop eye village. ferry over to gozo, comino. beaches are very nice. melliha, golden sands, golden bay. if you can try and see a local soccer match, the chanting is crazy. island is very small. getting around is easy. st julians (paceville to the locals) has some crazy nightclubs. its more expensive to stay here. the street markets in valetta are good. clothes, cds are good value. splash and fun water park is okay,

I was there at the start of December last year and the weather was patchy- 20degs and sunny some days but rainy and stormy other days. Still better than Ireland though!

We stayed in the Golden Tulip Vivaldi in St Julians which is near to Paceville. We got a great deal on one of the hotel room websites, so shop around and you will get a good deal for a nice hotel. I really liked this hotel, the breakfasts were amazing and they have a nice pool. Food and drink was relatively cheap in there too (and in general). We ate and drank like kings and queens for our 5 days and paid what you would pay in Ireland for mediocre pub grub in 4* hotels and very fancy restaurants. V cheap house wines too!

Some lovely pier side restaurants in Sliema.

Malta full of English pensioners though especially at that time of year! But that makes it more peaceful

we have stayed in different hotels. last july we stayed in the dolmen, a friends wedding. deadly hotel. 3 or 4 pools. disco bar with great moroccan feel to it. we have friends over there so we stay in buggiba, food and drink is cheap. if your into fish you will love it. try the lam pucci (not sure if you spell it that way). fat harrys bar in the square is good. nice cocktails. o connors bar is just around the corner. loads of bars and resturants around. try some of the side streets for other bars. the local beer cisk is alright and hopleaf gives me a thumper of a hangover but its all good. st julians is the more popular tourist area. the marina beside the hilton hotel is amazing. the music festivals and concerts are worth checking out. we are staying in the santana this time. if you get a car try and find the jesus tree on the way to rabbatt, its a weird looking tree. if you like clay pigeon shooting there are loads of clubs over there.
