    Hi all,

I bought a used car 2 months ago. I have a 6 month warranty. The heating on the car is not working properly and so ill have to bring it back to them to be repaired. I really need a car for work so was wondering that if i take the car to them do they have to give me a replacement while i wait for mine to be fixed? Also, the front headlight is gone. I take it this is covered in the warranty?

    Cheers

It really depends on the garage in question but usually it would not be custom to give you a replacement car. However if you explain to them they may be able to accomodate you as a messure of goodwill and future custom but at the end of the day they are not obliged to unless it was written into the warranty which I doubt.

Regarding the headlight, is it the bult or the whole headlight itself that has failed. I would put money on it being just the bulb that needs replacing which is not covered under warranty as it is classed as a consumable. A replacement bulb will not cost that much and in most cases can be replaced easy enough by yourself.

cheers bazz. i bought it from a reputable dealership so hopefully they'll sort me out.
Its the lightbulb alright. I just thought that after 2 months and the bulb goes they might fix it for me. Ill give them a call. cheers for the response

TBH, I think if you go in asking them to replace the headlight bulb under warranty then any goodwill re the replacement car will most likely evaporate. What does your warranty document say re a replacement car?

    +1

A lightbulb probably costs €10 at most.
