Not 100% sure if this is the correct forum to get a fix for the above but basically I've a 4 year old Dell Dimension 8400 PC and recently nearly every time I boot up I get the above error i.e. blue screen with loads of text and saying that my PC is in an infinite loop, can anyone guide me to a fix, I've been told I need to down load new driver files but which ones?

Its most likely a graphics driver issue with your ATI card.

    1. Download the latest driver from the dell support site and save it onto a usb stick.
    2. Start your desktop in safe mode and uninstall your display driver
    3. Reboot and install your new driver
Course it could be other things also like a Virus or Dodgy Ram, but try the driver first.

A few questions to help diagnose the problem further:

What operating system are you running?
What graphics card do you have?
What graphics driver have you got on it?
When did you last update your graphics driver?
Do you know the Stop code for the problem you're having? (looks something like 0xXXXXXXXX)
Can you start up in Safe Mode?
Have you tried a System Restore?

If you're not sure about the specs of your machine, you can go to this page on the Dell website, enter your service tag, and get the details of the system's original configuration. This may help you figure out what drivers you need.
