Picked up what I imagine could be a great little studio combo. A Vox ACTV4, output switchable from 4 watts to 1 watt right the way down to 1/4 watt. 10' speaker, volume and tone. A very broad spectrum of sounds and greatfor blues/country. Will try post some samples later.

Nice! Can't wait to hear what it sounds like.

I got a low watt tube amp earlier in the year for recording and such. It's a '62 Harmony that puts out about 3 watts. I was surprised how loud it actually is. I can't turn it up full without disturbing the neighbours. I'm going to get a Weber attenuator which will hopefully help. :)

But yeah, little tube amps are awesome.

Cheers Bass! (Dord is bass as gaeilge, yeah?) I'm surprised a switchable output has taken so long to roll out but it seems to be getting more and more popular these days. I'd love an attenuator for my epi, would love to really push those tubes.

Sure is! You're probably the first person to spot that. I usually have to explain it. :D

I think it's been available for a long time in more expensive amps, just took a while to filter down to the cheaper ones. Glad that it is now. Better tone is a lot more accessible nowadays I think... even compared to 5 years ago.
