Can anyone tell me what the differences between the E160G (€39) and the E1550 (€69) are?

Does the E1550 just have better software or is there a better transceiver in it for low coverage areas. or are you bascially just paying for the design?

    Thanks

    Hi,
Just bought today the E1550 in a 3 store.

Actually, in the store, they have two models: E1550 (€49)
    and the E1750 (€99 a bit pricey...)
The online shop seems not updated. Better go to a store in town.
    Software should be the same.
According specs, the E1550 is the new model to replace the E160G.
    The E1750 allows upload 2MBps / download 7.2MBps speeds....in theory!

I've done some tests. Really impressed so far, better than my previous eircom landline bb.

The modems are all pretty much the same. Go with the cheapest, as a more expensive modem will not improve things one little bit.

I was told that the download speed they provide is only up to 3.6mb. It looks like there is not much use to buy a more expensive modem?
