Sorry for another alarm thread. Seems to be some knowledgeable people on this board, so I will chance my arm.

3 storey house in an estate built into the side of a hill (Only 2 stories at the back).

    Layout is:

Ground Floor : Front Door, 1 front Window
1st Floor: Patio Doors, 1 rear window, 2 front windows
2nd Floors: 2 rear windows, 2 front windows.

Everything is wired except the front window on the ground floor which was put into an extension. In the hallway there is a big cluster of wires high on the wall, presumably coming from all of the wired doors and windows. Opposite that right next to the front door is another wire which I presume is for a control panel. There does not appear to be any plug socket near the panel so I assume the panel needs to run on a battery.

I don't have a landline and don't want one (although could get an NTL one if I really had to - not sure if that helps, I hear of alarms which call you via a sim card, they sound pretty interesting).

So I am wondering what I need. I am thinking some sort of sensors for all the wired parts and have no idea what the non-wired window would need.

I was half thinking of trying to get the parts and fit myself (I can work with laptops, electronics, but have no idea what to do with an alarm, but am presuming that it can be figured out). I also don't know where to get the parts, I am in the South East but online is fine too. I have tried to look online already but have no idea what I am even looking for. If the price was right, I'd be tempted to get a pro installation (Koolkid seems to do these)

    Hi Quigs.
I'm guessing something like a 3 story townhouse here. Not too much involved.
A SigNet 100 professionally installed would be about €900 A GSM Dialler with this about €300 . For SigNet 220 with webserver add about €200
Thats covering all openings,.. 1 PiR, & inertias on all ground floor & accessible windows/doors Internal bell external SABB/strobe & battery

Thanks Koolkid. The webserver option sounds interesting.
