Looking for some good hill runs in Galway city area to use as preparation for the Connemara 1/2 in spring. If anyone knows any good ones (about 5-7 miles) I'd appreciate it.

Back road to Barna golf club is a little hilly.

For hill intervals up in Briar hill near hp has some savage hills.

Here's on I mapped for my training last year up the back roads of Knocknacarra. It's 10km, a good enjoyable run with a really good climb up by tonabrocky. You could always continue on to Bearna golf club as has been mentioned. Great climbs and descents up around there. Would extend the run to maybe 10miles but very manageable.

That's a fantastic run - I sometimes run that route leaving straight from work. Especially from the 1 - 3 mile area, you'll hit some very good hills. Up around the O2 mast the hills get pretty steep. Traffic can be a bit of a hassle - I'd recommend trying to avoid the evening rush hour to get the most enjoyment out of it.

Taylors Hill is another nice long hill that can easily be incorporated into most city runs...:D
