    Hi All.

Myself and the Mrs are heading up to Belfast in early December for a spot of Xmas shopping.

Can anyone advise on the best area for clothes shopping.

I've been to Ikea manies a time but I am not familiar with Belfast itself.

We're also hoping to stay the night so any additional info on good restaurtants, pubs, and a good hotel would be great.

Any do's and don't would also be greatly appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance.

Only two small bits of useful advice:

Premier Inn: cheap, cheerful, huge room. Recommended by a belfast friend and was perfect. Holiday inn is closer to the city (about 5 minutes) but was much more expensive.

Victoria Square shopping centre: has a great topshop & h&m, right in the middle of belfast.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks Chupi.

    That's great info.

Just a quick question, which Premier Inn did you stay in, there's two Premier Inn, Alferd Street and Waring Street, or are they much of a muchness?

    Thanks again :)

I stayed in the Premier Inn on Waring St recently- couldn't fault it! It's only 5 mins walk to all the shops and Victoria Sq. There's a nice pub on Waring St called the Cloth Ear and I would highly recommend you go to the Mourne Seafood Restaurant (if you like seafood of course!). Need to book in advance though- the best of food, great service, great value. I'd also recommend the Black Taxi Tour- really really excellent and totally safe.

    Hey OP.

It depends on what kind of shopping you want to do. Victoria square is more of your high end shops - house of fraser, tommy hilfiger etc but also has Topshop, monsoon and a few of the "higher end" high street shops.
    Store directory: http://www.victoriasquare.com/store-directory.aspx
Victoria Square is well worth a visit purely for the viewing platform at the top which offers great views of Belfast. There are also plenty of restaurants including Nando's, TGIF and Spurs.

Castlecourt shopping centre on Royal Avenue may be worth a visit as well.

Liberty Blue is also a great shop for buying one off and unique dresses. It is located on Lombard Street.
Other than that, most of the shops are situated on the walk between Castlecourt and Victoria Square. If you call into the tourist board which is on Royal Avenue, in front of City Hall, they should be able to give you more information.

Also just to mention if you are staying up during the weekend, get Breakfast in your Hotel. There aren't many places open on a Sunday morning in Belfast, as I know from personal experience!

With regards to hotels, if you are in Dublin it may be worth your while calling into the Northern Ireland tourist board. They will book your hotel for you and may be able to get you a special offer / free tour etc. It's on Nassau Street!

    Hope this helps!
