Woo hoo, it's that time of the week again! :)

    TV.com summary:
Dexter knows it's only a matter of time before the Trinity Killer's latest handiwork is discovered by Miami Metro. He has to work doubly hard to stay one step ahead of their investigation. Debra is shut out from her own case. She considers risking her career and bending the rules in the name of justice. LaGuerta and Batista realize that by playing by the rules they may have painted themselves into a corner. Dexter gleans relationship advice from a most unlikely source when the friction between Rita and Dexter comes to a head.

Sounds good though I think this may be a bit of a slower paced, "setup" episode for the second half of the season - I look forward to finding out later today...

    Very slow episode.

I was reading web pages at the same time to be honest.

Pretty good episode I think, it looked like it might have hinted that maybe trinity is dexters biological father when dexter was talking to trinities son the son looked a lot like dexter. Could be wrong though

    Never even thought of that.

Guess we have no idea who Dexter's real father is.

Seems a long shot it's Trinity though.

His father is the dead guy from Season One. It's certainly not Trinity. Very good, dense episode. Not much action but good plotting and story-telling.

Are they setting up Rita to find out the truth about Dexter at the end of the season? Could it ever be believeable that any character on the show (Rita, Deb, anyone!) could accept Dexter? I really don't think so..

I don't see that as a remote possibility TBH - sure, Dexter is looking to Trinity as an inspiration in some ways and maybe even a father figure, but definitely they are not really related...

Slow episode overall but it really seems they are pushing things towards Rita finding out the truth - hard to tell for sure if Trinity's wife knows what he really is... And Deb is back at looking at Harry's CI files so she could be getting close to finding things out too. I do wonder where they are going with things this season though from this point? Still interested to see how it all plays out.

I've watched the last three episodes over the last three days and have to say I think Season 4 - on the first six episodes - is the best season so far (by this point - Season 2 was excellent but only for the second half).

Rita is still kind of annoying but she's a necessary foil for Dexter and her character is quite believable. I think they're probably working towards him getting too comfortable with his home life and I reckon it will go wrong. My guess isn't that Rita will discover something but instead one of the kids. Perhaps Cody will go a bit closer to the books path.

Having Trinity be a family man, and Dexter trying to study his secret, is a great move. Previously his admiration has been clinical or a battle of wits. This time it's trying to reconcile how someone can carry their own Dark Passenger and lead a normal life. It's breathed life into the serial killer angle and I think Lithgow is doing an excellent job.

I'll even say the soap opera antics of Batista and LaGuerta aren't too bad! She's still a crap boss though..

Good stuff and a nice character episode.

I was a bit slow but I find Trinity fascinating so didn't mind spending more time with him. The scene with him and his wife in the bath was both chilling & fascinating. Dexter will learn all he can from Trinity before dispatching him.

Thread cleaned up. Quit with the future episode spoilers please. This is for discussing episode 6 only.

I think they are setting up Deb to find out about Dexter's past and maybe linking him to the ice truck killer. Deb will still accept Dexter because he'll tell her about trinity and get revenge for Lundy.

Good episode overall... didn't really like Dexters look to camera at the end though. Too "Alfie" for my liking.

Also, has to be said, bit dissapointed they've replaced Lilas bare ass from season 2 with Lithgows this season.

It was definately Quinn who killed Lundy.
Come on, they need a reason for him being in the show; every other main cast character in the show, even the now useless LaGauerta ,Baptisa etc have had some relevence to the plot/Dexter himself, except Quinn. Plus hes Morgans partner, so no one would suspect him.
My bet is that in like the 3rd last ep of this season, throughout the ep we are given clues it was Anton, then at the end twwwwwwwwist Quinns hot peice of reporter ass finds out Quinn killed Lundy, and Quinn kills her.

Cant see it being Quinn to be honest but I'm curious, what do you think his motive would be?

Well last season they seem to hint at him having a dark past, I can't see the motive atm but its Dexter, everyone has a motive.

I see him either being the killer. Save that, he seems to becoming more of a 'Doakes lite'; however I believe this to be a Red Herring.

Wrong. It will be Lincoln Burrows wearing a John Lithgow mask
