    Hey,

DOes anyone have any good weight programs that will help my boxing? I work out during my lunch break during the week and I would like to use my weights programs to become a better & stronger boxer

    Cheers

I'd put a lot of focus on squats and lunges as power starts through the legs, then stick with Dumbells for balance such as chest press instead of barbells, work opposite muscles such as back also..

Vary your reps such as 8 reps 1 day and 15 reps next training day etc..

There's loads more but that should do!

    Thanks!

I'm just reading through a few sites that are saying to do low reps with heavy weights. I have been doing high reps with high weights so I guess I can up the weight and lower the reps.

Lunges and squats are focusing on my core and legs but bar that is there particular excersizes I should concentrate on? Like, will curls and shoulder presses be more beneficial to me?

Do you know of any websites that will give you a training program example>?

Dont waste your time on curls, no good for boxing.

Fitball press ups are good for chest and shoulders for boxing, dumbell rows and dumbell chest press, shoulder press is fine, use dumbells again.

Low reps is fine but shake it up now and again, try choose exercises that work your core too, do exercises on fitball for example, chest press or shoulder, really helps your work outs..

    Thanks buddy,

Found a website called rossboxing.com which seems to have a fair bit of work outs attached to it.

Would still love to see someone elses program (excersize, reps, weights etc) to get a good idea of what others are doing.

Rossboxing is cool and very respected-Boxers are not big into weights TBH, the only reason i got into them was because i studied personal training-as i said just vary the program, hit all the major muscles

Chest, Back, Legs and Shoulders.. keep with multi joint exercises such as chest press, rows, squats, shoulder press, pull ups, press ups etc..

Forget about bicep curls, lateral raises etc..
just makes sure your balanced, another words 1 back 1 chest exercise,
i quad 1 hamstring and so on..

give an update on how you get on..

Also look at plyometric exercises that are great for power development
