Plain clothes = boring?

Do people think plain clothes/darkish colours automatically equals a boring person? Most of my clothes tend to be like that, as I don't have much money right now, so there's more possibilities to mix and match and you can get away with wearing the same things more often. I have an olive complexion so don't suit any of the pastel colours in the shops. I used to wear a lot of red but there aren't many red clothes around anymore. I have a few of the Urban outfitters pattern/slogan/'loud' tops and a few subtle grey/black animal prints but most of my stuff is plain, in grey/black/white/dark green. My sister reckons this is boring. I do wear a lot of bright scarves and big jewellery to brighten up the outfits though, and I wear miniskirts a lot so it's not like I dress 'old'! What do you think?
