    Hi,
Just bought a bike and I was wondering whether there is much difference between one pair of cycling shorts and another?
I presume the more you pay the more padding you get?
I havent sat on a bike for twenty years so any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

It's more in the cut of the short that you'll notice a difference between cheaper & more expensive brands.
Don't think there's much difference in the quantity of padding from one brand to another - you could just as easily have too much padding as not enough. Again it's more the cut of the padding that's the difference.

Have a search for previous threads on this, it's discussed regularly.

For short cycles (<1hr) it doesn't much matter what you wear. After that you'll notice the difference.

Bib shorts are better than non-bib ones. Assos are very nice although very expensive.
