Great start for Thurles and Pa Bourke. Makings of a good game.

Maybe Cu Chulainn had a style like that too..

Whoever wins this game will bloody well earn it. Great half of hurling.

Exactly what I was thinking! The accuracy of both sets of forwards is unreal aswell.

7 different Newtown players on the score sheet, versus 4 for Thurles. Worrying from Thurles POV. All the momentum with the Cork lads, half time came right on time.

Some excellent points being scored by both teams now.

Does anyone know anything about the Thurles jerseys? Are they like a throwback for the 125? Great game so far, if only it wasnt bucketing down

Should have been a goal for Newtown - what was the Thurles keeper thinking??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

New rule in hurling - you get headbutted, you get booked.

Anyone remember that move that Newton had with about 3 minutes to go, went the whole way down the pitch and went for a goal and the shot was blocked. Jesus it was great hurling!

Yeah, unreal. And the last point of the game, where Thurles were coming out with the ball and Jerry blocked it, got it back and stuck it over. It was an excellent game of hurling, delighted that Newtown came out the right side of it! Ben O Connor - player of the game, much deserved!

A hum dinger of a game, thurles threw it away.. Redzer has no brains thats why he was dropped from the county team. A free in front of the post lke and he got involved with mulcahy. Sickened..

We'll have to wait til next May to get revenge in the county jerseys.

One of those days when you are reminded how blessed we are to have the game of hurling. That game was epic. Had everything - moments of genius, passion, excitement, heartbreak. And all between two parishes on soggy pitch in a the middle of Tipperary on a overcast Sunday afternoon. Where else would you get it? Great entertainment.

Great game of hurling. That Redzer cost Thurles the game today. With the Sars up a point they won a free about 50 yards out and that ape then went over headbutting Pat Mulcahy and as a result they lost a free and instead of been 2 points up it was level! The Redzer should have walked for that disgraceful headbutt but all he done was contributed to the Sars downfall and left down his teamates. Well done to Newtown, their a credit to club hurling in the Country.

I'm a cork man and no fan of redzer but mulcahy got hit on the helmet by his forehead and went down like drogba. Watching it with a lot of cork lads and it was more embarrassing for Mulcahy than anything. Stupid of redzer, lost the free, lost by a point. dose.

Pat Mulchay's actions were embarassing. Simple as that.

Mulcahy made a complete meal of going down, his reaction was a joke and he deserved a yellow card for it. As for Redzer in my view he should have got the red card for an attempted headbutt, the intent was there to do damage regardless if Mulcahy was wearing a helmet. I still can't believe how stupid Redzer is but the Sars selectors have to take some of the blame for putting him on when they were doing well at the time. I think Redzer got off the red card because of Mulcahy's silly reaction.
