Is it time to be ashamed of Louis Walsh yet?

Hi guys, I posted similar in the other thread, but I think this deserves a thread of it's own.

I think Louis Walsh putting through John And Edward to the live show was completely exploitative of these two young (and painful as it is to say) Irish lads, purely for the purpose of getting ratings for the show. He knows that they are rubbish, and still Louis gives them great reviews and allows them to be put at the end of the show so everyone has to watch the whole show.

It's become like the X Factor version of Dustin in the Eurovision, but if they win they will become hated by the British public. Does Simon Cowell not have ANY duty of care to the participants of the show or is he just allowed to use them whatever way that they see fit to increase the audience figures? I thought under UK employment legislation, John and Edward's employer's would have to be protective of their physical and mental health?

    This is just wrong

I've been ashamed of Louis Walsh for a long time now before this.

I've never been a fan of Louis. He's a businessman, effectively. Boybands are his business. I really don't think he has people's best interests at heart. His own, sure, but not his bands'.

Louis is not made for TV, he has no finesse, he's a blundering idiot, he never thinks about what he has said more then 3 sentences back and therefore tells every X-Factor act that he sees them being in the final.

In his defense, he did make me laugh when Heidi from the Sugababes called into the Xtra-Factor and Louis said "who are the Sugababes".

Do we need to youtube the late late boyzone clip, along with a line to the definition of the word "yet"?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

to be honest now i think the x factor wouldn't be the same without him-i thought it was ridiculous when he let the twins through but it was actually a very smart move on his part...when they go the x factor will be much less exciting and ratings could easily drop.Plus he's really funny and is the only one who can manage the groups out of all of them :D

Louis is not doing anything different than Simon. Alot of people are getting through based on appearance. That welsh lad can't sing to save his life.

Why is there no fat people through? Because it's not a singing contest or anything even remotely resembling one.

I dont get this thread. If I was English would I be ashamed because Jordan, Stan Collymore, Nick Griffin or Peter Sutcliffe are English.

I know you have posted it in celeb and showbiz but why would someones actions make you ashamed of your nationality?

Louis Walsh is resposnible for rubbish like Boyzone and Westlife. At least John and Edward are funny! Louis' greatest creation yet, making a mockery of x-factor, finally he's gained a tiny bit of my respect!

whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit that both of those bands, particularly westlife, have been incredibly successful-i'd consider six and the carter twins to be rubbish

But he's a wimp. X Factor is a horrible show. I got tried of the set-ups with oh-so-funny bad singers, and most of all, I got tired of hopeful (and desperate, God love them) youngsters climbing the stage, doing their best, only to be publicly humiliated by Louis and Simon in their own, distinctively hurtful ways. Where's the f&*king decency?

He's catty, pathetic, he tries to upstage Cowell and fails miserably (Cowell is a special kind of manipulator---vicious with a charming/smug grin), even his voice grates on me.

I'm not ashamed of him but he should be. Rant over.

Why is he wearing a poppy ?

Louis Walsh isn't the only Irish person in the UK wearing a poppy. It's November. Nothing to see here, move on.

Why is he wearing a poppy ?
Out of respect for the people of the country he presumably does a lot of his work in. He's not the only high profile Irish person wearing a poppy this year. John and Edward wear also wearing them, as was Matt Holland on "Football First" on Sky Sports last night. It's up to the individual person; some will wear them, others would never consider it. C'est La Vie.

Why is he wearing a poppy ?

That's got nothing to do with the topic on hand. I'm not having a poppy debate in this forum. There is a very extensive thread on AH about it. Voice your opinions about it there. We don't need one here as well.

I don't want it mentioned again in thread. Can we please get back on topic now.

Was listening to the radio this morning and they were saying that "apparently" it was Simon's idea to put the two guys through and that Louis was dead against it. Contributor in the studio (who worked with Louis on the Ireland talent show) said that she couldnt believe that Louis would have any hand or part in putting John & Edward through.

I love Louis on the X Factor more so this season

it doesn't matter who put them through-the public are keeping them there now.they are loving the attention it brings so i doubt they are under too much mental stress

Those lads will make it thanks to Louis, look at boyzones first performence on the Late Late and look at them now, multi-millionaires.
Anyone that 'hates' them because they cant sing isnt worth it anyway so why should they even care, and its the brittish public keeping them in each week.
I think people need to lighten up and get a sense of humour about the whole thing. jesus have people nothing else more worthy to get their knickers in a twist about, its not like they've killed anyone!!!

There was me thinking Ronan Keating was the spokesman/manager/PR master/etc of Westlife!
Serve me right for believing him and Westlife members!

Ironically, this is the first year of The X Factor where I haven't been compelled to constantly refer to Louis as a cretin.
