OK guys I could really use your help on this problem its driving me mad!

I bought a 3 broadband USB key recently. However when I try to run 3 connect it immediately crashes and gives me these two errors.

    autoupdatesrv_file_description has stopped working

    wilog_file_description has stopped working

I have tried other peoples keys and the exact same thing happens.

I rang 3connect but although the guy was helpful he didn’t have a clue what was stopping it.

He tried changing start up programs shutting down the firewall etc but there was no effect.

I have a dell studio xps m1340, 4gb ram with a 32bt operating system. Mcafee came with the laptop as well as system mechanic (disguised as dell pc tune-up) and dell data safe.

If anyone can solve this I promise to love you forever! :D

It could be a file permissions thing ??

Maybe reinstall the 3 connect app and answer scrupulously 'yes and allow' to everything until it works .

locate the directory the files are in and first right click on the DIRECTORY icon and left click on properties then security then advanced then effective permissions . Then repeat for each file

are they or the directory read only by any chance or owned by another user ???
