Really?? How long has this been going on? And for how long do they throttle your speeds?

Amazing if it's down to some anti-piracy law they're now enforcing.

Is this just the case for eircom alone-or does the anti piracy law also apply to eircom resellers?

If its raining as hard in Glenbeigh as it is in Tralee I would imagine that to be a good enough reason than spooks monitoring your surfing on a Sunday!

More may be known tomorrow when people fire up their computers at work.

How about switching off the router and switching it back on to see if it makes any difference?

    Another possibility.
I found out this morning that there is no need for a filter if only the DSL line is going into the socket.
removed filter, inserted DSL line directly Speeds back up again.

Unplugging the line from the modem will have a similar effect to your connection as turning it off. The modem will have to sync afresh either way.

If you think it's acting consistently slowly then there's no harm in switching on/off the modem or plugging the line out and back in in future.
