    Hi all,
The OH is probably going to get one of these in green on the cycle to work scheme.
Anyone any comments on it...will be putting a child seat on the back of it.
    Cheers,
    Marty.

Someone posted recently that they had a similar bike stolen. Get a Kryptonite lock and lock it always. Learn how to lock the bike frame to something immovable, railings, bike rack. Keep the bike indoors when not in use.

The bike has a frame fit lock, but imo you need a proper lock.

People with white vans, people with boltcutters ..... unless your bike is well secured it will go.

If you want lock advice, locking technique, or anything about Pashley on boards.ie you can use the Search function near the top right of the screen.

Most bikes aren't particularly desired by thieves, they, as the name suggests, just want to steal. It's not much fun, there's little profit but it is their chosen path.
My advice is get a late-model Kryptonite NY3000 lock AND a decent cable one and lock the front wheel/frame and rear wheel/frame to a proper bike stand or railing. There are defeats for both types of lock but they require different tools so you make it twice as hard for the thieves.
Get the shortest Kryptonite that will work for your bike/conditions as the larger it is the more vulnerable it is to attack.

The simplest thing to do is imagine that you're locking up a bundle of €50 notes (for you, that's what you're doing!) and act accordingly. Park where there are people, lights and other bikes, thieves don't like this stuff so much. Don't get lots of bling on the bike or leave baskets etc, it just attracts attention which is fine if you're riding but not when parked (you wouldn't put flashing lights on your bundle of 50s).

When it eventually gets stolen, let it go with good grace and buy another. Someone will get a nifty second-hand bike and with luck you'll have had a year or two of good cycling. Saves on maintenance too :)

    This.

Be careful to spec the child seat and rack properly.

The Pletscher rack and seat fouls the saddle on our bike (my wife is 5'1" ish).

Well, first, Limerick is a bigger ****ing ****hole than dublin, so dont get complacent.;)

At 5"1 you are looking at below a 18", Id imagine a lady of 5'1 trying to get on a 20" frame wouldnt be very lady like or very Elegant:D.

Oh scobes....thats what the posh scum of dublin refer to the poor scum as.

I prefer Dirty ****ing inbred AIDS riddled stains on the knickers of life.

Sorry, was going to check last night but forgot. I think she got the 17.5" frame.

    Hi
I cycle a princess soverign - fabulous bike.
I use it daily for my commute, not for training or anything.
Very easy to ride and free to service if you go through a shop.
I generally used the built in lock and also another one, but I only park it in the hall outside my office and at the gym where it's locked up inside a courtyard.
    I love it!

    Cheers pig2twig (I like your user name :-) )

Do you mind me asking your heigth and the frame size you went for?
Also Lumen be great if you can confirm if its the 17.5" frame your wife has.
    Thanks all,
    Marty.

Hi there, I got a pashley princess in August and I have a baby seat on the back. I am 5'8 and got the 20 inch and it is perfect for me. I absolutely love the bike. I got it from bikedock in belfast and they delivered it free to Dublin.

Hi Marty, it's an old Halford's yoke. Totally ruins the look of my lovely shiny bike, so we got a spare hamax fitting from bikedock at the time and the OH puts it on his bike if we go out as a family :D.
