    Garmin anyone ???

Frees up Wiggins to go to Sky .......

    Maybe Evans to Sky instead........

Good move IMO, never seemed to get the full backing during the grand tours and the signing they made to support him were quite frankly disasterous

Good for him, he often comes across as a whiney little **** but honestly he has never got the support his talent deserved. I am just done rewatching again the World Champs and he did it there ON HIS OWN against the likes of Italy which had much stronger teams. I shed tears. I hope he whaps Contador in 2010.

Hmmm So now we know why Contador hasn't jumped ship yet as there has obviously been a lot of wheeling and dealing behind the scenes.
    Evans to Sky
Contador to Garmin and Wiggins to ???? It gets more interesting

It was obvious that things were not so smooth within Silence-Lotto especially during the Spring classics. However I thought Evans was very gracious and supportive to Gilbert in Lombardy so was under the illusion things had been patched up. Hence my surprise on reading your post Rob

@blorg I think the "whiney little ****..." is due mainly to his aussie accent (and short vocal chords !) sorry not sure how to multi quote
Not sure it was all "on his own" as the Aussies did quite a bit of work earlier in the race when it looked like a decisive move had gained a few minutes up the road.
Yes at the end he did it all on his own and I too was delighted to see him win

here here,Cadel really does deserve so much more,Provided he can somehow avoid the curse that has been known to come with that World Champions jersey.....

@Sy. Re supporting Gilbert. I read in a magazine last week that Evans rode gor PG in ToL as thanks for worlds.
Journo reckoned that PG worked for CE in final 15k. At the world's CE was not aussie team leader.
Also he has not thanked aussie team mates apparently.

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/evans-to-bmc-contador-to-lotto-for-2010

Speculation has started as to Cadel Evans' team for the coming season, with Sportwereld.be claiming to have exclusive information that the World Champion will sign with the Professional Continental BMC Racing Team.

BMC Racing Team, based in the US has signed numerous other big names for the coming season, including former World Champion Alessandro Ballan, US Champion George Hincapie, Marcus Burghardt and Karsten Kroon. According to Sportwereld, the team will announce Evans' signing on Sunday.

As a Professional Continental, or second-tier team, BMC does not receive automatic invitations to major races, including the Tour de France. It would have to rely on receiving a wild-card invitation.

with the current world champion in their ranks, they`d be pretty much guaranteed that wild card, no doubt

The Australian reckons he is going to Garmin with Wiggins going to Sky.

That looks like a good fit and would suit everyone

Would be ironic if say CE goes to garmin with wiggo off to sky. Bertie stays put then astana don't get tdf invite. LA storms home next year.
    Just thinking outloud.

I believe Bertie has a specific clause in his contract allowing him to leave if Astana don't get a Tour invite. Might be a bit late to find somewhere else at that point though. I would find it very difficult to envisage him staying at Astana.

    BMC it is !!!
    Have to say I'm surprised.
Quite a left-field move, at least the tour team will be built around him and Hincapie will be a solid domestique

I'm surprised to see that he has left Lotto, but I really don't think that a move anywhere else is going to increase his chances of winning the Tour. His form this season was questionable, he really managed to pull the cat out of the bag with his WC win, but was it just a little too late?

He's talked in the last few days about aiming for a Tour win next year, but in reality, if all his rivals are fully fit and present, he has'nt a hope. He's fantastic at keeping up with the pace, but with the likes of Contador and Schleck around, where is he going to get time over them? Contador has proven that he can blow anyone off the road in a TT at this stage, so Evans does'nt even have that anymore.

And I agree with whoever said he comes accross as whiney, he's also a bit of a nutter from what I can gather!

Evans probably wanted a bit more freedom in his decisions about what races(Tours) he rides in. All these guys Evans, Sastre etc. are waiting for Bertie to make up his mind about his riding plans for next year. However they'll have to wait a bit longer because of the Astana situation.

Evans is desperate to win a Grand Tour and finally had his best chance this year(Vuelta) without Contador but did not have the luck. Would he be willing to give up on the TDF if it meant he could have a good crack at the Giro/Vuelta! Possible.

Good for him. Nice bikes, nice kit.

There are now two big riders that are as of now at teams that they probably dont want to be with.

    Bad Move Cadel

No help to him in the mountains at all.

    Cadel Evan$

    And now confirmed for BMC.

I'd have to chuckle if they ended up not getting invited to the tour, but with the likes of Hincapie and Ballan in the ranks, I doubt that will happen.
