Is it a Zyxel 600 Prestige or such, as Digiweb gave me the same make and no luck with the NAT.

There is also this thread, which has a good post by ravydavygravy (3rd one down) about NAT2 issues and portforwarding.

There was a website I linked to ages ago that had methods of opening ports for each individual router but cant remember the link, will try look for it.

I have the same problem. I've tried everything that i can think of. I even tried all the stuff mentioned in the youtube videos. It still remains at Nat 3.
I have read the thread in boards.ie (the one by ravydavygravy), it still wont work.

Purchase a proper router, seriously. You can get a half decent router for about €50

I hate these threads with a passion. So much so, I gave up replying. Until now.

The issue is that some people are just not equipped to get this working. Most normal people simply do not understand routing, NAT or firewalls. Its hard to give simple generic instructions that work for every router/isp/user setup - also NAT/firewalling setups are not always straightforward - depends on each individual setup - huge number of variables that make generic instructions very difficult to write.

So, heres my new generic instructions:

    1) try to follow guide on http://portforward.com/ to get NAT2
    2) if you FAIL, try following the youtube videos on getting NAT1
    3) if you FAIL again, find someone who has a clue, and get them to do it.

Bonus tip: even with manually forwarded ports, some routers have firewalls that block the traffic anyway - you may also need to open ports in your firewall.

    Hope this helps! :D

    Daves €0.02

    Can you use any routers?

Ive another one there but i thought u had to use the one perlico gave?

You can use any router that has an ADSL port on it. I would stear clear of any router for less than 50 or 60 euro. Not sure if Perlico is ADSL or ADSL2 or whatever.

You get what you pay for.
