Looks like some people with modded consoles are going to wake up to find their consoles banned from Xbox Live.
"A small percentage" of Xbox Live users with modded consoles that allowed pirated games to play woke up to find an early treat in their Halloween bag: a banhammer.

Hard to know how extensive the bannings are, but looks like they are definitely clamping down. I know there are a few modded consoles floating around here (guys playing games long before shop release) - anybody here been affected?

I think it's fair enough tbh. They have T&C's about using their network and if you don't follow them then you're banned from it. I'd imagine that they got a lot of complaints from the original xbox days when some machines were bricked instead of just banned. It's not illegal to change your firmware so to brick someone's machine like they used to is not on.
