With all this talk of the naughties and what they gave us and also the "2012" end of the world thingy it got me thinking about the next decade.

What are you expecting in the teens (2010-2019)?, in terms of music, this recession business and will the world actualy end in 2012.

Me? I'm just hoping this centuries teens won't be as bad as the 20th centuries (Dont mention the war).

Im looking forward to a new series of reeling in the years.

And laughing at douchebag teenagers that look back on the last few years and cringe at their retarded mullet haircuts and sparkley earrings.

Less retards, more common sense and good results in my Junior and Leaving Cert. The year 2012 will be a good laugh, although if it's true, we're fooked.

The Mayan Calendar ends on Dec. 21st 2012 and some conspiracy theorists believe that this is a sign that the end of the world is nigh.

Some lads somewhere a long time ago made some calendar that runs out in 2012, and everyone is up in arms over it. My calendar runs out end of December and no one seems to be too worried about it.

Im expecting the implosion of music. Seeing as in this decade nearly every decent song has been remixed, everyone knows if you remix a remix it has disastorous consequences!

Probably just another bullshít decade where people in their teens/ 20's pick and choose fashions of previous decades in an effort to relive nostalgic times from before they existed, only this time they wont be doing so in this country because they will all have emigrated.

ipods and digital cameras are going to be "retro"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,593 ✭✭✭Sea Sharp

So we'll have a load of bands / DJs coming along tring to replicate 'retro' bands such as Blur, Oasis, Radiohead, The prodigy. etc.

If you remix a remix maybe it'll cancel out and they'll just end up re-releasing the original?

Fuk the next decade – we'll all be selling our bodies to make ends meet. I'm looking forward to the twenties! That sounds odd now that I say it.

Now that you say it, that got me thinking about what age this child of the early 70's would be then. I then thought about what age I would be in the Forties. And then I thought to myself that some oul fella at the end of world war 2 in the 20th century was born around 1870 when there was only the odd train , steamship possibly and the charge of the light brigade. Near the end of his life he was listening to the radio, watching television, talking on the phone, and been shot at with tanks, machine guns, bombers and if korean in 1950 - jet fighters. If he lived to my grandads age of 85 he'd have witnessed the first space satelite-Sputnik. Remember, he was born at the time of Huzzars charging with sabres drawn at Russion Cannon.

I wonder will the technological changes I witness between the mid 1970's and 2055 be as dramatic.

World wont end in 2012, hoepfully. As said, the Music industry will be destroyed and built up from the ground again since more talentless retards attempt to remix already poor remixes.

Retro clothing phase will die, us yung'wans will start wearing even weirder **** than already, problem is since it's not retro it's going to be very unpredictable.

Fianna Fail will be ousted and dissident Republicans along with the support of Sinn Fein will launch a revolution within Ireland, seize power, attempt to attack the Uk and 7/10 of people within Dublin city center will die in cluster bombings.

    Predictions for next year:

IMF intervenes in Ireland when everybody protests over the budget cuts. Real incomes slashed by 40%. The underclass of Ireland left to starve following a 70 % cut to the welfare payments to those who refused to work during the boom.

Nick Griffin elected British prime Minister in a landslide vote.

Intelligent life found elsewhere in the universe, putting an end to every form of organised religion.

Because it would be a bit of a coincidence that every religious doctrine just happened to forget to mention that their god also created similarly intelligent life on other planets.

For the next decade in regards to my life...

Feic off to America for the forseeable future!:D

So the world better not feicing end in 2012:mad::mad::mad:

In regards to Ireland in the next decade....it will continue to lose more and more of it's identity :(

I've heard the Koran (Or Qu'uran or whatever) uses the plural "worlds" (Well, whatever the plural is in Arabic) when talking about got creating the worlds, putting people on the worlds and stuff, which would inply that there are other planets with life and that they were created by the same god.

I'd put a good bet on the following..............
That Westshi*te will still be churning out cover versions,
That everyone will be 'surprised' when Robbie Williams tells the truth,
That every gobsh*t in the country will have an english premier league soccer team jersey,
That 20 smokes will be €20,
That Ashley Cole will tell his dizzy wife the truth,
That there will be a man of African origin on a hurling team in Croke park
That a litre of diesel will be around €2.50
That Marty Morrisey will evolve in to an alien
