Dave, I take it from the FP2 you're budget is around the €2,300 mark, in which case the Cube is waaaaay better for the money, especially the Agree GTC SL.

Having said that, they're are some cracking deals on 2009 bikes at the moment, so you'll get a lot more bike for your money, start Googling !!!

There are tons of great options out there for that money, but it depends on what you want, other brands to have a look at, besides the usual suspects are Willier, Viner, Bianchi, Cervelo, Orbea, Basso, Storck, Canyon.

Again its all down to what you are looking for, is it for racing or sportives, what geometry you prefer, comfort or mega stiff.

    Ooops, forgot Ridley & Kuota

I bought an FP2 3 weeks ago. The thing rocks. I live in Miami. There are not that many hills. I ride at a 24mph clip. Does everything perfectly for me. I ride with proven racers and they are very impressed. I got it in carbon black. The MOst components are fantastic.

Thanks for the advice lads. The Cube range looks fantastic so might pop out next week and have a chat with Cycle Superstore. Not the biggest fan of that place though!!

TBH they are pretty helpful in there, and John is really sound, always willing to knock a few quid off as well. There are a lot of very good LBS in Ireland, just be sure to haggle a bit, Slane Cycles and Chain Reaction Cycles up North or online are very good also, Epic Cycles, Posh Bikes, Evans + a gazillion more in the UK, not forgetting Wiggle, all more than willing to sell you a bike, SHOP AROUND !!!

You should get a cracking great bike for that kind of money.

    Best of luck !!

There is a fab looking Lapierre second hand bike in Cycle Superstore. Bit outside the price range but I'm sure I can haggle a few quid off!!! Gonna call them monday! :)

If it's the one you've pictured, they're asking €2500 (list here). That's a lot of money for a s/h bike with SRAM Rival.

Those used bikes in CSS are often appalling VFM, IMO.

Of the three you picked, the Cube is by far the best for the money. Stay away from that ould Lapierre, its not worth half that and its a scandium frame ffs.
