so the kids were going into the house between two cars parked side by side but one of them either walked into or cycled into the mirror on the car....the fancy vectra mirrors

the plastic on the inside is all broken and most of it is on the ground (broken off) and i found the big plastic bit on top down the end of the garden !!!

clipped back on but without the other bits on the inside its still quite loose and it looks absolute sh*t !

who's at fault in this case ? never had a problem before (only new neighbors) and always parked in the exact same way for over 2 years now !

who should be handing out the cash for the repairs/replacement ?

not really in the mood for claiming it out of the cars policy.

    Cheers lads.

p.s. if i had my it would be the parents forking out the money for it and those kids would be ****ting it just to leave the house and i'd make sure it would never happen again !

EDIT: i'd love to take them out and kick them around the field ! anyway for those who dont know the mirrors im talking about, its these Opel_Vectra_B_prefacleift_1995-1998_Polizei_NRW_Germany_Personalwerbung_frontleft_2008-03-27_A.jpg

    (note my car ;))

Alert your neighbours of the incident. Check out if they're reasonable. Convince them you're of sound mind and if they are new neighbours, make an effort to welcome them.

After alerting them of the incident, and they understand/believe their children was at fault, see if they'd even be willing to go halvers on a replacement mirror. They couldn't be that expensive.

thanks but i shouldve pointed out the mirror itself (glass) is fine... its all the plastic crap around it that would need to be replaced....see pic above ^^

    cheers

The kid's parents should pay for the repair. Go around and ask nicely. If they refuse to pay, go straight to 'plan B'.

+1. Thinking of a Vectra is painful enough without high detail pics of it too :(;)
