How did bobby loose the use of his legs in the episode... he comes in with a stab wound to the chest and is told he'll never walk again? wtf? Is that just writers being lazy and saying oh "it's probably something the demons did when they controlled him"?

It wasn't a chest wound - he clearly stabbed himself in the abdomen and probably hit something vital in the process, since he was fighting against himself at the time... His paralysis was attributed to the injuries he suffered in the episode and nothing else.

so getting stabbed in the abdomen disables your legs?

Ask a doctor? :) How would I know? I guess you could end up doing all kinds of damage but I don't know - I was just saying that he ended up stabbed in the abdomen, not the chest and his paralysis was never attributed to anything else...

The knife could easily have hit his spinal cord or nerves around the spine. it is a very big knife. Complications in surgery can also lead to paralysis with such a would. It is not a stretch at all to consider it could happen.

just seems a bit lazy and "the sort of realistic that happens but you just don't see coming" like dying from falling down the stairs because you had slippers on.

He stabbed himself while fighting the demon that had taken over his body and the problem is that the subsequent paralysis was not realistic enough?! :)

no, you get stabbed in the back for that kind of injury. I know the knife was long but still
Here's what he had to reach

that lower part seems easily reachable from a long knife. I know for a fact it is not true that you have to be stabbed in the back to be paralysed. It can happen with damage from a frontal injury.
