Reloading is "frowned" upon in Republic

Without in any way making any sort of comment on the OP or their reasons for looking for this equipment or knowing whether they're even in Ireland or not, I'd just like to remind everyone that reloading is very much up in the air here at the moment, with a much anticipated re-write of the relevant legislation in the offing.

At the moment, and as far as I know, the possession of reloading equipment is perfectly fine, but the components of ammunition are a different story.
Primers and powders are regarded as explosives under Irish Law, and currently require the completion of copious quantities of paperwork to possess and use; the powers-that-be have been unforthcoming with such paperwork for some time now I'm led to believe.

Again, as far as I know, the other components of ammunition (cases and heads) are currently regarded as ammunition in and of themselves, so anyone with such items in their possession should be certain their Firearm Certificates cover them for the calibre and quantity involved.

I'm open to correction on the detail of the above, but I'm pretty sure it's not too far wide of the mark.

Bunny shooter thats a shame, is it a problem being allowed the powder on your side? I'm in Tyrone and looking to load for .222 I have all my components and a classic lee loader tool but I want to go the whole hog and have ordered dies but was hoping to pick an old decent press for less than a new one :) I can't even get one from the US because they're so heavy and postage would cost as much as the press.

    Liam,

We are not allowed to have powder, primers or heads. Suppose we are lucky to be allowed "factory" ammo. You are lucky in so many ways with regard to shooting compared to us in the Republic ;)

The authorities have branded us as criminals, refuse to allow us to licence most stuff you take for granted and as stated refuse to allow us to reload either

do you honestly think in a country where you are not allowed to load six rounds of ammo into a .22 revolver (5 only) without a restricted licence that they are ever going to allow law abiding citizens to hold kilo's of gunpowder ?
you've about the same chance of getting planning permission without a brown envelope being involved .
