Does any one have a check list/project plan for a self builder

If now - who would be interested in sindicating their ideas in to a single "soup" to "nuts" check list of thinks you should look at when thinking about self building

Id be interested in seeing something like this. I have a good idea of the process but would like to see the stages other self builders went through..just incase there are any little things I (or anyone) may forget.

Good idea this actually. If we can get a decent thread on the step by step process (without going off topic) for a one of house for example then Id be happy to either sticky it or incorporate into one of the other stickied threads.

I think the design/planning element can be omitted and concentrate on the actual construction itself and the order in which the various stages need to be carried out.

So if anyone feels like throwing a list up then please do so.

There is an very good step by step guide in the House & Home (Build your own ) yearbook which comes out in the first weeks of the new year. Costs about a tenner.

It a plan for a house from start to finish in about a year, listing the weeks for each of 20 stages.

Can post a scan of the pages (if ok copyright wise) although have it in MS Project but that prob isn't much use.

Better not. All these matters are copyrighted.

Here is step by step plan for a house over about 6 months, but as is by contractor not self build so its compressed time wise but the stages remain valid
