Getting mixed signals

    Hi

A girl I really like is giving me mixed signals, on one had shes giving me all sorts of signals that she likes me, flirting with me , texting/messaging me all the time and always making conversation etc,

I told her recently how I felt about her and she gave me a very enticing response that led me to believe she felt the same way. So I invited her out into town this evening and she said yes - however:

A conversation today led to her saying she thought it would be weird if we "went out" because were friends and that she has a rule against that (which set off alarm bells for me). So I said "you know I thought you liked me too" and she replied : i never said i didnt like you I just ive a rule .

Now I'm really confused, were meeting in a few hours time and I'm going to do my best to look well etcera - but I guess I'm just looking for peoples opinions on it.. I really like her and want to go out with her. She recently broke up with her boyfriend which turned out to be a bit messy so her emotions may be running high I think.

    Any opinions/advice is most welcome

On a side note: I get the impression shes playing hard to get, as I know her last boyfriend was chasing her for a good while before they went out

Tell her rules are meant to be broken now & then.

Play harder to get (and mean it). If she likes you, she'll make it more obvious. If she doesn't, better not let yourself fall for her.

Well my personal advice would be to try once more. If she still plays hard to get I would let her be.

I have neither patience nor time to play silly games.

How old is she? Why do some women play such silly games? I'd give her one shot and one shot only. If she doesn't take you up on an offer for dinner or a movie, etc, then I wouldn't waste my time.

I think it's a bit harsh to say this women is 'playing silly games'. You has told him she sees him a as a friend and doesn't want anything to happen between them because of that. At least she's laying her cards on the table from the beginning. Seems to me that she might be trying to let him down gentle too.

OP I'm sorry but I don't think she's really interested in you romantically. She probably sees you as a friend and likes to have a laugh with you. She's made herself clear and I think you should accept that.

But the OP says that at one point he told her how he felt and got an enticing response (and she agreed to go out) and then when he persued things, she changed her mind.

Now unless the OP has left out some information (like something could have happened between these two events that made her change her mind), I would be inclined to believe she's playing games.

Hmmm i agree with wasper. Play with the rule thing a bit. Be careful not to patronise her or anything but a little playfulness around the rule thing might help lighten the mood, show her you are confident and give her something to think about
