Bike spaces under concourse?

Since they removed the bike spaces under the concourse, where is there to leave bikes sheltered from the elements around campus?
Which SU presidents have canvassed on this issue in the past and failed to provide more spaces?

Forget the elements those spaces under the concourse were always the single most likely place to get your bike stolen on campus.

Id never had problems with leaving my bike there. Unless you were stupid enough to leave your bike there overnight, then your just asking for trouble.

I know that the SU are looking into a properly gated shelter for bikes where you have to swipe in for security. I believe they are looking at where best to put it.

Probably end up being out in Corrib Village or Dangan and you'll have to walk in.

I'd like to see it outside the AM building where the current bike racks are. Just enclose that with a proper fence and put a swipe gate on it with cameras and lights.

Or in a section of the car park outside the Education/engineering buildings.

It's annoying to say the least. They're looking to promote cycling, and then take the best bike spaces on campus (they were covered damn it!) without giving any extra ones. Have ye noticed it being harder to get a spot at the smaller bike racks? They're often already full these days.

Still nowhere covered to leave the bicycle save a few token perspex stands which are always full. Tis a crying shame.
