Vodafone Mobile broadband - USB 1.1

    Hi

    Does anyone know if a vodafone broadband dongle should work with usb 1.1. Its a Huawei K3765, and I am running XP home.

    When I plug it in XP warns me that it will run faster if i connect it to a hispeed port. It seems to detect the device as a cdrom drive, but if I try to open it my computer it says 'insert cd'.

    I dont know If I should order a PCI usb 2.0 card or not (Is the usb1.1 the problem)? The modem seems to install ok on a USB 2.0 laptop I have.

    Hi marathont,

    There's no sure way to know if it will work with your USB 1.x
    There are a few things I can ask you to do to get the device recognised though.

    I was trying to get it to work for someone else. I have given up, I have a feeling it would work with usb 2.
