I just received my sample pack from graphi and I'm very impressed, these books aren't as expensive as I thought they would be and the quality is amazing.

I was wondering does anyone here already use them? Happy with consistency and delivery? Looking at the extras re images per page and colour correction, has anyone here used the colour correction and re the images per page, I design my books on a template so my template page may have 3 images on it even though it is just one jpeg, would there be an extra cost for that?

    Thanks in advance...

I use them a lot and find them very good. You can download the Graphi software and use that or as you say use your own templates. I have about 60+ templates designed up in the Graphi software. They are very easy to make your own. You can ask them to do the work but then there is a charge and a cap on the amount of images you can supply them. Drop me an e-mail if you want and I can go through it in more detail for you.

Delivery is very good, on average about 4 weeks but they say expect 6 during peak times. Quality is outstanding I think. They will let you do a sample at a very low cost too.

PS:l be careful when using you own templates as you will need to get your measurements right to their sizes.

    Have fun

can you design your own layouts for instance using specialist software like Yervant, or InDesign, Photojunction etc.
lots of place now accept the layout finalised in Adobe Acrobat Format.

Yup, you can design them in any program you like as long as you upload jpgs in the right format/size :)

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so. The only way I can see how you can to that is to do the design in the size of the template page of graphi page in your Yervant etc, save it as a TIFF or JPEG file then import them into the Graphi software and place the image on the double spread page. You see the there is only one way you can send Graphi your completed album and this is that you have to ZIP it in their software and either send it via FTP or by post on a CD. They then open it up and print.

Well thats the only way I know of.

When you log into your trade area you can upload it there too, it doesn't have to be through their software. Hope that helps a bit :)

    Hi KJT,

Do you do your pages in other software and upload those pages as is through the trade area ziped or do you place them onto the pages in the Graphi software album and then zip it and send? Just curious!

    regards

When you have the pages completed in whatever software used. You go through the trade area and click on the process order button. When you click on there you have the choice of uploading the images via ftp or by shipping the images via courier. As you go through through the online order process it offers ie album size, page qty etc etc you to drop & drag the files needed to complete the order. The software is pretty cool as it wont process the order untill all the info has been completed/submitted.

Defo a ton easier than the original & confusing form that had to be completed originally which was soooo easy to get wrong.

The software they provide is to design albums etc only. Yes it allows you to upload the final design but not upload designs done in other programmes.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. I've only just got the new online order form. Can I ask what page software you use. I;m using Martin's YSI, (You Select It).

    Thanks again for the info.

    Hey Fergul,
Yup, pretty much as Mike said. You can design the album in any software and upload the jpgs direct through your trade area OR when you are placing a new order.

I design most pages in Yervants Page Gallery and some of the pages from scratch in photoshop. Hope that helps a bit :)

(ps Their order form is lovely, it shows they've put a good bit of work into the interface!)

Yeah I used the new order form today for the first time and have to admit it was very good, even when selecting the covers etc. So easy and simple. Very impressed.

Do you compress your pages? And secondly what size do you use for the landscape tYpe book. I must have a look at Yervants. I do have Martin's YSI.

    Thanks again

    Hi Kjt

Do you have 'Page Gallery' of the Yervants software. It seems impressive. Can you link me the site where you got ,yours from. I'd like to explore it a bit more.

    Thanks again for the reply.

    Hey Fergul,
I don't compress my jpgs at all, each page/spread is anything from 5-30mb. For the landscape book I use a 14:10 format - so each page/spread is 7000x4900pixels @ 250dpi

    Page Gallery linky!
