have connacht novice xc on sunday and i didnt give myself enough time to get spikes on the net , would i be better off running in my feet or runners ? i dont think there will be that many in the race and i have done a few runs on grass in my feet , im worried that if the ground remains wet that the runners will get very wet and heavy and i feel maybe my grip will be better in my feet ?

I would be very hesitant about either. I don't know the course but with the recent rain its likely to be very slippy and I don't think you will get enough grip with either bare feet or flats. At last year's equivalent event, I saw quite a few people end up on their backside trying to take a turn even at moderate speed.
I would highly recommend making every effort to get spikes on Saturday in your local sports shop. I think you are not far from Sligo so a call to check availability in Kents or Barton Smiths would be worthwhile.
If you do decide to run bare-foot, keep well back from your competitors at the start to avoid getting spiked and take the turns slowly and wide to avoid a fall, which could cause an injury.
PS enjoy your XC experience, you will probably do very well.
